Betsy Baker is available to consult on research, strategy and policy projects involving Arctic and international marine activity in three general areas:
- Marine resource development and conservation, including comparative offshore oil and gas regulation in the circumpolar North, comparative indigenous resource rights, ocean and coastal resources and management, and balancing multiple uses in marine areas;
- International environmental law, including its influence on national law, sustainability and marine ecosystems, and climate change implications for marine and coastal infrastructure;
- Law of the Sea, including use of resources within and beyond national jurisdiction, continental shelf claims, marine scientific research access, shipping and navigation, and emerging issues in oceans law.
Baker also consults on improving access to legal education for all Alaskans, focusing on Alaska Native educational opportunities.
Baker is not admitted to the practice of law in Alaska.
